Install it and forget it - The new Trailer Tracking unit is solar powered to work anytime, anywhere!

April 28, 2004 -- While Fleet Tracking is becoming a popular tool with service vehicles, trucks and commercial fleets; tracking trailers still remains a challenge. The reason being that trailers tend to be disconnected from the tractor and left at the customer/ remote sites for weeks. When this happens, the tractor battery is no longer available to power a tracking system.

Now AMTEL introduces a Trailer Tracking unit that overcomes this drawback:

·Sophisticated electronics reduces the power consumption in a ‘Quiet’ operation mode.
·The compact unit houses a powerful, rechargeable battery pack as a backup.
·The unit has an in-built solar panel to keep the battery pack charged.

So, even if there is no power to the unit from the tractor, the tracking system can remain operational for weeks.

And what’s more! The unit design is naturally camouflaged. Once installed, the unit appears more like a Panel with three indicator lights (as per the specifications of traffic authorities). So it hard for someone will know that a trailer is equipped with a tracking device.
