Finally, a ‘Swivel’ Trailer that Permits Driving Autos In One Way and Out the Other

Tongue Twister, manufacturer of trailers for recreational, automotive, construction and utility equipment, announces a new technology in trailer systems that totally eliminates the hazardous backing of autos up or down trailer ramps. Employing a breakthrough, patent-pending, swivel design, Tongue Twister enables users to easily pivot the front of a trailer without unhitching it, allowing vehicles to be safely driven directly onto and off the trailer via straight-through front and rear ramp access.

Available in a variety of trailer styles including flat or cargo, bumper pull or gooseneck, Tongue Twister offers the first technology to virtually eliminate the peril insurance studies say causes the most accidents involving trailers: vehicle damage and personal injuries incurred when backing equipment onto or off the trailer platform.

“This is a solution that has been a long time coming,” says Marty Robbins, Tongue Twister Sales Manager. “When loading a show car or performance car onto a trailer, you don’t want to be forced to go backwards. It can be too difficult to see where you’re going, and therefore risky. And if you drive off the side of the ramp, you can do severe undercarriage or even body damage. The Tongue Twister gives you the choice of going in and out the easiest way, even if you’re parallel parked.” Robbins adds that the easiest way to see a demonstration of Tongue Twister’s technology in action on various trailer styles is to visit the web site www.tonguetwister.net, where animated photos may be viewed.

Tongue Twister is available in three styles of rotation actuation: electric, hydraulic and manual. A front stabilizing jack, or “landing gear,” is available in electric or hydraulic models. Front and rear ramps are spring assisted. All controls are simple and easy to operate, activating no more than three moving parts.

All current Tongue Twister trailer models have the front and rear ramps making it easy to load or unload the trailer in less than a minute. Standard Tongue Twister trailers unload from the front on the “curb” side, and the back from the “road” side.

Tongue Twister’s front and rear loading capability also makes organization and distribution of loads much easier and safer. The Tongue Twister design allows users to drive onto the trailer from both front and back, enabling them to get the most equipment on board.

In accordance with National Association of Trailer Manufacturers standards, safety features are designed into Tongue Twister trailers wherever possible: an alarm signals when the trailer is twisting; doors and ramps also sound an alarm when actuated; limit switches prevent trailer from twisting with the ramp or doors in an unlocked position.

Dealer and OEM inquiries are invited. For more information, contact Tongue Twister through the web site www.tonguetwister.net; e-mail twistmann@tonguetwister.com; call toll-free (877) 925-8265, or fax (352) 429-4977.
