Revolutionary New Automatic Truck-Trailer Theft Deterrent System Emerges As Powerful Anti-Terrorism Tool
Originally designed to combat the ever increasing occurrence of cargo theft, the HOC-LOC™ system has also emerged as an ideal weapon to fight terrorism and enhance Homeland Security as far as trucks are concerned. The HOC-LOC™ is a state-of-the-art, microprocessor controlled system that requires the driver to enter a code to move the trailer. The HOC-LOC™ automatically locks the trailer when the brakes are set. It does not utilize keys or other objects that can be lost, stolen, or copied, and codes can be changed in seconds by authorized personnel.
The HOC-LOC™ was conceived by John Holt, Chairman and CEO of the J.P. Holt Corporation. With over 18 years experience in all areas of the transportation industry, Mr. Holt experienced firsthand a need for a simple to use and affordable system to reduce cargo theft. During his four-year tenure as a fleet manager, he experienced a rash of trailer thefts, even though certain industry accepted and widely used trailer locking devices were being utilized. “Needless to say, I realized that there had to be a better way to secure these mini warehouses on wheels,” Mr. Holt stated in a recent interview. “It occurred to me that there was absolutely no lock that is built into these trailers. Every vehicle on the road has some type of lock that was built into it - except trailers. Semi-trailers are (when loaded with cargo) some of the most valuable vehicles on the road,” he said. After searching for such a device for his fleet, he soon found that it simply did not exist. Recognizing a need, he set out to secure investment capital and retained a team of engineers with backgrounds in the aerospace industry to design and engineer what is now called the HOC-LOC™!
“I am very pleased to announce that after 18 months of rigorous on-the-road testing, as well as laboratory verification, the HOC-LOC™ is now available on the market,” Mr. Holt concluded.
